What should I expect on the first visit?

On your first visit, you will be given a patient data sheet to fill out your basic information such as address, phone number etc.  The treatment provider (physiotherapist, chiropractor, massage therapist) will then do an assessment of your complaint, which includes the following:

     1. Taking a case history - asking specific questions about the complaint, as well as general 

           health history questions that may affect treatment 

     2. Performing a Physical Assessment - a series of tests to determine the cause of complaint

     3. Providing information about your injury/condition as well as treatment options.

The first visit may last anywhere between 45min to 1hour.  The first visit may also include a treatment therefore, please wear comfortable clothing and bring shorts for lower limb complaints.

Do I need a referral from my family doctor?

You do not need a referral from your family doctor to see a physiotherapist, chiropractor, or massage therapist.  However, some insurance companies may require a referral from your family doctor to reimburse you for treatment.  If you are not sure, please call or come in to see us and we will be happy to assist you.

How long will each visit last?

Following the initial assessment, each subsequent visit may last anywhere between 15min to one hour depending on plan of management and complexity of injury.

What do I wear?

Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for your visits.

Do you bill directly to my insurance company?

At your request, we will bill your insurance company if the insurer allows us to bill directly.  Some insurance companies allow direct billing and some do not.  If you are unsure whether your insurance company allows direct billing, please call or come in and we will be happy to assist you.

Do I have to pay for parking?

No. Parking is free.
